RIFLES:
Suggested calibers for hunting big game on the Double Dime, include .30-06, .270, .243, .25-06, 7mm mag., 300 mag., and .308. It is highly recommended that rifles be equipped with a minimum 4X scope for a clean kill. We have a rifle range for your use. We suggest that you sight your rifle prior to arrival.

OTHER EQUIPMENT:
Binoculars are highly recommended. Photography is encouraged. A digital or 35mm camera with a good zoom or telephoto lens will enhance the memory for years to come. Camcorders are not permitted.

HUNTING LICENSES:
Hunters are required by the state of Texas to have a RESIDENT or NONRESIDENT current Texas Hunting License. They are available in Crystal City or Carrizo Springs, but it is advised that you obtain one before arrival. Licenses are easily obtained online or by mail.

CLOTHING:
Fall temperatures vary from lows of 30-40 degrees in the mornings to 60-80 degrees mid-day. Rubber soled boots and snake boots are strongly advised, and camouflage clothing is encouraged. Layering of clothing is recommended.

TAXIDERMIST:
There are several qualified taxidermists at your disposal. We have several examples of their work highlighting the great room of the main house, as well as the guest-house. They will mount and ship your trophy or we will prepare/cape your trophy for you to ship to your preferred taxidermist.
